Buddha Sakyamuni is lying on his right side, his head resting on a cushion or relying on his right elbow, supporting his head with his hand. It represents the Buddha Skyamuni during his last illness, about to enter the parinirvana.

In Buddhism, parinirvana refers to “nirvana-after-death”, which occurs upon the death of someone who has attained enlightenment or nirvana during his lifetime.
